Batumi Zakaria Paliashvili High Music School Receives Grant from the Embassy of Japan

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of Ajara, the Batumi Zakaria Paliashvili High Music School has received a grant through the Embassy of Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP). Within the framework of the grant, the school will receive 15 pianos and grand pianos.

The grant agreement was signed by the Director of the High Music School, Nino Chaidze, and Ambassador of Japan to Georgia, Ishizuka Hideki.

Minister of Culture of Ajara Elisso Bolkvadze congratulated the High Music School on receiving the grant and emphasized that supporting arts education remains an important priority. According to the Minister, the Ministry will continue to actively work towards strengthening the institutional and material-technical capacities of arts schools. Elisso Bolkvadze expressed her gratitude to the Ambassador of Japan for his support and reaffirmed her readiness to further develop cooperation in the future.

Ambassador Ishizuka Hideki highlighted the historical importance of the High music school and its special role in preserving musical traditions in Ajara and contributing to the development of the region’s cultural environment. According to the Ambassador, the cooperation will further strengthen the friendly relations and cultural partnership between Japan and Georgia.

Equipping the Batumi Zakaria Paliashvili High Music School with new musical instruments will contribute to strengthening its material and technical resources, improving the quality of the educational process, supporting students’ professional development, and raising the standards of arts education.

Following the signing ceremony, students of the High Music School performed a selection of musical pieces for the invited guests.
