International Camp in Türkiye – 2026”

With the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara and organized by the Ministry for Internally Displaced Persons of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, the project “International Camp in Türkiye – 2026” is being held on Kınalıada Island, Republic of Türkiye.

With the blessing of the Georgian Orthodox Church and in cooperation with the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the camp is taking place from 14 to 24 July 2026 and brings together young participants aged 11–14 who were displaced from Abkhazia.

The project also includes the participation of 13 young people of Abkhaz ethnic background and young people displaced from Abkhazia who live in the village of Peria, Ajara.

As part of the project, members of the Georgian delegation visiting Türkiye on a working visit, together with the young participants of the camp, were hosted at the residence of the Ecumenical Patriarchate by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, who blessed the participants and expressed his support for the initiative.

First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara Vladimir Mgaloblishvili expressed gratitude to His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I for supporting the project.

The meeting held at the residence of the Ecumenical Patriarchate was attended by Archimandrite Ilia Jinjolava of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Minister for Internally Displaced Persons of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia Davit Patsatsia, Minister of Health and Social Affairs of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia Besik Kusidi, and other members of the Georgian delegation.

The initiative represents an important example of youth engagement, cultural dialogue and cooperation, creating opportunities for young people to strengthen connections based on shared values, cultural heritage and mutual understanding.
