Minister of Culture of Ajara Meets with Representatives of Georgian Diaspora Organizations in the Marmara Region

Minister of Culture of Ajara Elisso Bolkvadze held a meeting with Omer Faruk Demirtas, Chairman of the Federation of Caucasian-Georgian Associations of the Marmara Region, and the heads of eight diaspora organizations operating in the region.

During the meeting, representatives of the diaspora organizations presented their needs and shared their views regarding cultural initiatives. Particular attention was paid to the professional development and training of choreographers and singing instructors, as well as the need to renew traditional stage costumes.

Elisso Bolkvadze expressed her gratitude to the diaspora organizations for their support of Georgians living in Türkiye and for their contribution to preserving and promoting Georgian culture and traditions and passing them on to future generations. The Minister reaffirmed the Ministry’s readiness to support the diaspora representatives in implementing cultural activities and initiatives.

The meeting was attended by Consul General of Georgia in Istanbul Aleksandre Jishkariani, Head of the Folklore Promotion Division of the Ministry of Culture of Ajara Madona Tevzadze, and other members of the delegation.
